Access Statement

Introduction

Cwmllechwedd fawr is situated along a farm lane and offers 2 guest bedrooms.

The property is over two hundred years old and whilst we aim to meet the needs of all our guests, there are some features of the property which might make access difficult for people with limited mobility.

Access to the property is by 3 stone steps and all guest bedrooms are accessed by stairs. Therefore these are not suitable for wheelchair users.

We have onsite private car parking.

The whole of Cwmllechwedd Fawr is non smoking, and no vapouring.

Pre-Arrival

The property has easy access by road and is approximately 1.8 miles from Llanbister Village.

We offer a pick up/drop off service for walkers – please arrange prior to arrival.

The nearest bus stop is 30 minute walk. Timetables can be provided in advance if required.

The nearest railway station is Llanbister Road, approximately 12 miles away by taxi.

Taxis available and contact details are available. Bookings can be arranged if required.

We are unable to accept animals of any kind.

Arrival and Car Parking

Please advise us of your anticipated time of arrival in order that we can be available to welcome you.

To ensure that your accommodation is ready we ask that you arrive after 3.30pm. Earlier arrival may be arranged.

Free, unrestricted parking is available on-site

We offer assistance with luggage and escort guests to the rooms where the facilities are explained.

Main Entrance

At the front of the property there are 3 steps each approximately 8 inches high. There is no hand rail.

The front door is locked after 8pm, with arranged access after this time.

One front door key will be provided for each room for the duration of your stay.

An external light is provided for your safety and convenience. A long with an emergency light at the bottom of the staircase.

Guest Accommodation and Public Areas

The front porch opens into the lobby then onto the Guest dining room. These are both flag stone floors.

There is a staircases leading from the dining room. The staircase has a handrail.

A staircase and landings are carpeted and steps are approximately 8 inches.

Cwmllechwedd Faw is centrally heated throughout and temperatures can be controlled to suit individual requirements.

Guest Lounge and Dining Room

Guests are welcome to use the snug at anytime.

There is a sofa and 3 upright armchairs in the snug. The floor is carpet with a small rug. A coffee table and various lamps and small tables are available.

Lighting is by ceiling lights and table lamps.

Breakfast is served in the Dining Room with a mixture of cold buffet and hot plate served food. All hot food is cooked to order.

Tables in the Dining Room are set for 2 people but can be moved to accommodate larger groups when required.

Bedrooms and shower rooms

There are no ground floor bedrooms.

All bedrooms are carpeted throughout and have en suite facilities with tiled floors.

A range of hot beverages are provided.

Each room has a wardrobe, dressing table with a stool and mirror and bedside cabinets with lamps.

Each room has sky television and radio with teletext and subtitle facilities.

Lighting is provided by a mixture of wall, bedside and dressing table/mirror lighting.
In addition each room has extra seating.

There is a Guest Information Pack in each room providing details about the accommodation, our facilities and the local area.

All sanitary ware is white.

All have power showers with thermostatic mixers, w.c, basin with twist and turn taps, bedit and heated towel rail. The showers trays are 4 inches high.

Lighting is provided by ceiling and over mirror lighting.

Bedroom

All bed’s are accessed is from both sides.

Additional Information

There are fire extinguishers on the landing.

Mains controlled smoke detectors are situated in the dining room, all corridors, stairways and bedrooms.

Emergency lighting is situated at the bottom of the staircase.

In the event of a fire, the smoke detectors would sound.

The building can be evacuated by following the marked routes to the front door. Emergency exit signs are located above the veranda exit.

Please advise us if there is any reason that you may need additional assistance with these procedures.

Smoking nor vapouring are not permitted anywhere in Cwmllechwedd Fawr, including the front entrance of the property.

We are able to cater for special dietary needs but would ask that you provide us with prior notice of at least 1 day.

Mobile phone reception is generally good. House and the immediate surrounding area.
